1. What expenses does the registration fee cover?
The registration fee includes access to all 10 days of lectures and lab sessions, the organised hiking activities, as well as lunch and light refreshments during tea breaks.
2. Does the registration fee cover travel and accommodation?
No. The standard registration fee does not cover travel or accommodation. Participants are responsible for arranging and covering these expenses unless they have been explicitly awarded a scholarship that includes travel and accommodation support.
3. For the applicants who received free registration, do they also get free travel and accommodation?
No. A full registration fee waiver covers only the registration fee. Participants must cover travel, accommodation, and other personal expenses unless the scholarship offer explicitly states otherwise. Our financial support, in the form of scholarships or travel grants, is limited to full or partial registration fee waivers only.
4. I work at a Company/University, but my Company/University is not sponsoring me. Will it be possible to get scholarships in such a case?
NAAMII is a not-for-profit research institute dedicated to capacity building for youth and the democratization of AI. We continuously work to make AI education as affordable and accessible as possible. While we do our best to provide as much financial support as possible to as many attendees as possible, as a new institution, we are bound by various financial and logistical constraints. Regrettably, we cannot offer you a scholarship at this time.
5. I just completed my studies recently, but haven't taken up any job yet. What category should I apply?
If you graduated within the last six months and are currently unemployed, please apply under the Student category and clearly mention your recent graduate status in your Response to the Application Questions. Please provide your most recent academic evidence, such as a transcript, examination admit card, student ID, or an official document from your academic institution.
6. I am partly employed in a company and have joined a course at/university. What category should I apply under?
If you are currently a full-time student, please apply under the Student category, even if you are also working or undertaking an internship.
If you are studying part-time while working professionally, please apply under the appropriate professional category.
If you are employed by a start-up, please apply under the Start-up Professional category, unless your primary status is that of a full-time student.
7. I wish to attend the event fully online. So, in that case, will my registration fees be deducted?
No. ANAIS 2026 will be conducted fully on-site, and there is no online participation option. You may join the ANAIS Discord community for updates and event-related information; however, lectures and lab sessions will not be broadcast live.
8. If I select that I won't attend without a scholarship, will it affect my chances of being accepted into the program?
Your answer to this question will not be considered by the Scholarship Selection Committee when evaluating your scholarship application. However, because scholarships are very limited, applicants who indicate they are willing to attend through the paid option if they do not receive a scholarship have a higher overall chance of being offered a place. Based on our experience from previous AI Schools, applicants who indicate that they will attend only if they receive a scholarship generally have a low overall acceptance rate because of the limited number of scholarships available.
9. Is the registration fee inclusive of lunch and hike?
Yes, the registration fee covers the 10-day lecture sessions, the hiking day, and tea/coffee and lunch during the program.
10. What is included in the limited scholarship seats/ travel grant?
NAAMII offers a limited number of scholarships to support deserving participants. Most scholarships are provided as full or partial registration fee waivers.
Scholarship selection is highly competitive and based on financial need, merit, and diversity and inclusion criteria.
In addition, NAAMII plans to provide special full scholarships to two selected student applicants from each of Nepal's seven provinces to promote diversity and inclusion. These scholarships will cover the registration fee, accommodation, travel expenses, and meal support during the program.
To be considered for any scholarship, applicants MUST submit the Response to the Application Questions and clearly explain why they require financial support.
11. Do I need to attend all 10 days of the program, and will I receive a certificate?
Participants are expected to attend the full program and actively participate in lectures and lab sessions. A minimum of 80% attendance is required to be eligible to receive a certificate.
12. Do I need to bring my own laptop?
Yes. Participants should bring their own laptops for hands-on lab sessions. We will communicate any required software, accounts, or setup instructions before the program.
13. What language will be used during ANAIS?
Lectures, lab sessions, learning materials, and official program communications will primarily be in English.
14. What happens if I am selected but later cannot attend?
If you are selected but cannot attend, please inform the ANAIS team as soon as possible so your place can be offered to another eligible applicant.
15. Is there a waiting list?
Depending on the number of applications and available seats, qualified applicants who are not initially selected may be placed on a waiting list and contacted if a place becomes available.
16. When will application results be announced, and how will selected participants complete registration?
Application results will be communicated individually by email. International applicants will start receiving application decisions from October 2026, while national applicants will start receiving decisions from mid-November 2026. Selected applicants will receive instructions regarding the registration process, payment, confirmation deadlines, and other relevant information by email. Additional updates may also be communicated through the official ANAIS Discord community.
17. Does ANAIS arrange accommodation for participants?
Accommodation is generally the responsibility of participants unless it is explicitly included in a scholarship offer.
Information and recommendations regarding accommodation arrangements will be communicated to selected participants through the official ANAIS Discord community.
18. Will lecture materials or recordings be available after the sessions?
Relevant learning materials, including slides, code, and other resources, may be shared with participants through Google Drive.
Lecture recordings or selected sessions will be available through the NAAMII YouTube channel.
Further details regarding learning materials, recordings, and access will be communicated through email and the official ANAIS Discord community.
